Just when things were quiet...

following this
Mac's office was dark as Sid came through the glass door. He really didn't feel like turning on the light, there was enough coming from the one light still on in the hall and the soda machine glow beyond the offices.
He hadn't been fibbing, the office was as pristine as ever. Sid shook his head, even intoxicated, Mac was efficient. Efficiently intoxicated?
Sid walked around the desk, double checking just to make sure. All of the files were stacked neatly in their respective places, the computer was logged off...not even a stray pencil anywhere. On an impulse, Sid sat down in Mac's chair with a sigh, indulging his imagination as to what it would be like to be head detective. Not that he would ever want such a job. He really did prefer the morgue and sorting out evidence and DB's down there. The view was rather nice through the glassed in partition that separated the office from the rest of the lab. Sid leaned back in the chair and sighed, thinking about Peyton leading Mac off by the hand and hoping they got home safely.
Leaning back in the chair made him notice something under the desk. There was a small red light glowing somewhere underneath. Sid got out of the chair, pushing it to the side, curious as he got down on his knees to look under the desk.
Right at eye level, stuck to the underside of the desk, was a red colored digital readout attached to a small box. 00:00:09...00:00:08...00:00:07...
Sid's eyes widened behind his glasses. Getoutgetoutgetout! his brain said, forcing him past the shock of what he was seeing. No time to think, just run.
00:00:05...00:00:04...00:00:03...
Sid vaulted himself over the desk, scattering Mac's carefully laid paperwork around, trying to get some distance and knowing he was probably too late if this was a true bomb meant for the building. Why did he feel like he was moving in slow motion?
00:00:02...00:00:01...
His hand just touched the door handle to open it...when it went off.
BOOM!
The explosion destroyed the desk, sending pieces of it upwards and outwards. The force of the small bomb made a concussion wave that took out all of the glass at the front of the office all at once, sending Sid through the door, glass and all, with it. The glass rained down on the floor outside while pieces of the desk dropped to the carpet inside.
Sid lay on the floor for a second, the blast ringing in his ears and making sure he was still breathing. He was pretty sure...he didn't feel dead or anything. Just severely shocked. He slowly turned over and got himself sitting upright, trying to avoid the pieces of glass he was sitting in. He probably had pieces of glass all over him...and possibly stuck in him...but he seemed to be in one piece. He looked back into the partially destroyed office.
"What on earth was that?" he said to no one in particular as people started running out of their respective labs to see what the noise had been about.
[ooc: *headdesk* forgot the wedding was today...feel free to keep the wedding stuff apart from this, that might be too confusing]
